This lot comprises a large serving platter and a partial tea and dessert service. The oval serving platter features a scalloped rim and a cream-coloured ground, decorated with a central multi-coloured transfer-printed and hand-coloured design depicting a bounty of fruit and flowers including grapes and apples. The base bears a brown printed backstamp reading COPELAND SPODE ENGLAND REYNOLDS S. 2188, with a hand-painted yellow numeral 7. The partial service consists of a creamer, four teacups, and six small plates, all featuring scalloped edges with gilt rim detailing and multi-coloured floral sprays including roses and tulips. These pieces bear a green printed mark featuring a crown symbol over the letters RGK, with CZECHOSLOVAKIA in an arc below, and a hand-painted red mark, likely the number 84. No other maker’s marks, signatures, or labels are visible on the items.
Condition report:
The platter exhibits surface wear and marks consistent with use (photo 1). The partial service appears in good vintage condition with the gilt rims remaining largely intact. One plate shows minor surface scuffing to the central well (photo 1). No chips or cracks are visible on the displayed rims.
