This lot comprises a two-piece English wash jug and basin set, featuring flow blue transfer-printed floral decoration. The jug is constructed with a globular body and a pinched neck leading to a wide, scalloped, and ruffled pouring spout, complemented by an ornate scrolling handle. The circular basin has a flared, ruffled rim featuring molded scrollwork details. Both components are decorated with floral bouquets in a cobalt blue pigment that exhibits a characteristic flow effect against the white ground. The rims and the jug handle are finished in a deep cobalt blue. A printed black mark is present on the underside of the basin, consisting of a crown symbol above the text MADE IN ENGLAND. No maker’s names, signatures, or pattern titles are visible on the pieces.
Condition report:
The set shows signs of handling and light use. Fine surface crazing is visible in the well of the basin (photo 2). No chips, cracks, or professional repairs are visible on the jug or the basin.
