This lot comprises an assortment of philatelic material, featuring loose postage stamps on paper and multiple commemorative First Day Covers. The collection includes a UK Royal Mail First Day Cover for the 200th anniversary of the Bristol-London Mail Coach, bearing four 16p stamps with circular date stamps reading 31 JULY 1984. Also present is a First Day Cover for the Windsor Berks issue with denominations of 13p, 18p, 22p, 24p, and 34p, postmarked 28 AUGUST 1984, and a British Council Golden Jubilee issue. Loose material includes a strip of five Spanish stamps inscribed 5 PTA ESPAÑA depicting Francisco Franco, a large Soviet Union commemorative stamp from 1977 inscribed ПОЧТА СССР and 12 КОП depicting the icebreaker ЛЕДОКОЛ “АРКТИКА”, and a vertical pair of Portuguese stamps valued at 3$50. The lot further contains a green German definitive stamp inscribed DEUTSCHE BUNDESPOST 230 and various UK Machin definitive stamps. One envelope is addressed to W.H.B. DEAN, THE POPLARS, NEW BRIGHTON, MOLD, CLWYD CH7 6QQ. No maker’s marks, signatures, or labels are visible on the items.


Condition report:

The stamps and covers show signs of handling and postal use. The loose stamps remain on paper remnants with irregular torn edges (photo 1). The First Day Covers are addressed and show light corner wear (photo 3). The stamps exhibit various cancellations, including circular date stamps and machine cancels.
