Estimated price: £80 - £120

Buyer's Premium:

This lot comprises three white metal cups and three matching saucers, each featuring a traditional Imari stylised decoration. The cups are of a cylindrical form with a slightly tapered base and ornate scroll handles, while the matching saucers are designed with a shallow well and a scalloped rim. The decoration is applied in underglaze cobalt blue and overglaze iron red, with hand-applied gilding in a pattern of alternating geometric and floral panels. The underside of each piece bears a printed red mark reading ROYAL CROWN DERBY ENGLAND arranged in a semi-circle above a crown and an interlaced D monogram. A red pattern number 2451 is present, alongside a date cipher consisting of a vertical bar with three cross-bars. Additional markings include a small hand-painted green hook and a stylised orange leaf symbol. No other labels or stickers are visible.

Condition report:

The items show minimal signs of surface wear and environmental exposure. No chips, cracks, or hairlines are visible in the provided photographs (Photos 1, 2, 5). The hand-applied gilding on the handles and rims appears well-preserved with no significant loss or rubbing apparent (Photo 4). A small amount of brownish surface staining is visible on the unglazed foot rim of one cup (Photo 3). All items are supplied without a protective case or original packaging.
