The obverse features the fourth definitive portrait of Queen Elizabeth II facing right, with the initials IRB visible below the neck. The circumscribed legend reads ELIZABETH · II · D · G · REG · F · D · 2011. The reverse design depicts a rhythmic gymnast performing with a ribbon against the London 2012 Olympic logo at the top, with the denomination 50 PENCE at the base. The coin is presented in a clear protective plastic capsule with a black foam insert. No maker’s marks, signatures, or labels are visible on the item beyond the struck designer’s initials and coin legend.
Condition report:
The coin shows signs of environmental exposure and handling. The obverse exhibits significant golden-brown toning and tarnish, concentrated around the periphery and within the recessed areas of the design, along with light surface contact marks. The reverse displays lighter toning and several fine surface scratches in the polished fields. The coin is housed in a clear protective plastic capsule.
