Buyer's Premium:

A Mid-20th Century English teapot, of square form modelled as a two-storey cottage with a thatched roof lid. The body features relief-molded brickwork and architectural details, including a central door and multiple windows. The exterior is decorated with polychrome hand-painted accents depicting climbing foliage in shades of green and pink. The handle and spout are textured and painted to resemble tree branches. The removable lid represents a thatched roof and is surmounted by a central chimney-form finial. An impressed mark on the base reads MADE IN ENGLAND. A green printed backstamp is present, featuring the numeral 4 above a wreath encircling the name PRICE BROS, accompanied by the text MADE IN ENGLAND, COTTAGE WARE, and REG. NO. 845007.

Condition report:

The teapot shows signs of use and age, with extensive surface crazing present across the entire glazed surface of the body and lid. A piece of brown adhesive tape or paper is fixed to the front slope of the lid (photo 1). There is minor wear to the hand-painted decoration on the raised textured surfaces of the spout and handle. The base exhibits shelf wear and some light staining (photo 2).
