This lot comprises a 15-piece Bavarian porcelain coffee service, featuring a brilliant metallic lustre glaze to the exterior surfaces. The service includes a coffee pot of flared form with a pointed spout and loop handle, a matching lidded sugar bowl, a cream jug, and six flared cups with six corresponding saucers. The interiors of the vessels and cups are finished in a plain white glaze. Each piece bears a printed mark to the base beneath a crown symbol reading BAVARIA, JOHANN SELTMANN, VOHENSTRAUSS, FOREIGN, and the numeral 22. No metal hallmarks or fineness stamps are visible on the items.
Condition report:
The porcelain service shows signs of light handling and surface wear. Minor surface scratches are visible on the metallic lustre finish of the coffee pot and the sugar bowl lid (Photo 2 and 3). There is light rubbing to the glaze on the handles and rims of the cream jug and cups (Photo 4 and 5). A small surface mark is present on the underside of one saucer (Photo 6). No chips, cracks, or professional repairs are visible.
