The obverse of the medal features a central relief of a rose with a stem and leaves, surrounded by a border inscribed ENGLISH GOLF UNION and GOLD MEDAL TOURNAMENT. The reverse features the central inscription CLUB WINNER within an embossed laurel wreath border, with the surrounding area remaining blank and unengraved. The medal is contained within a blue leatherette case with a white satin-lined lid and a black velvet-lined base featuring a circular recess. The lid interior is stamped with two Royal Warrants, a lion passant logo, and the text FIRMIN & SONS PLC. The warrants read BY APPOINTMENT TO H.M. THE QUEEN BUTTON MAKERS and BY APPOINTMENT TO H.R.H. THE DUKE OF EDINBURGH BUTTON MAKERS LONDON. No maker’s marks, signatures, or labels are visible on the medal itself.
Condition report:
The medal shows no visible signs of surface wear, scratches, or oxidation to the obverse (photo 1) or reverse (photo 2). The reverse remains unengraved. The presentation box exhibits minor shelf wear to the exterior corners and light compression marks to the interior satin lining from the medal\'s edges. The original presentation case is supplied.
