Coins, Gold & Silver Bullion Auction
This lot comprises a collection of international banknotes from various issuing authorities. The assortment includes a 1930 Hungarian SZÁZ PENGŐ note from the MAGYAR NEMZETI BANK featuring a portrait of MATYAS KIRALY, serial number 096280. A 1960 Guinea 100 FRANCS GUINEENS note issued by the BANQUE CENTRALE DE LA REPUBLIQUE DE GUINEE is included, serial EV969148. The collection further contains a Belgian 20 TWINTIG FRANK note depicting the Atomium, a Yugoslavian 500 DINARA note from the NARODNA BANKA JUGOSLAVIJE, and an Indonesian DUA PULUH LIMA SEN note. Also present are a German 10 REICHSBANKNOTE serial E 372404, a Colombian 1000 PESOS note, a 1000 SHILIN SOOMAALI note from the CENTRAL BANK OF SOMALIA, a Surinamese 10 GULDEN note from the CENTRALE BANK VAN SURINAME, and a GOVERNMENT OF INDIA ONE RUPEE note serial 43B 917202. The banknotes feature various security printing elements including complex guilloché patterns, watermarks, and specific serial numbering. No additional marks or signatures are visible.
Condition report:
The banknotes exhibit varied conditions ranging from heavily circulated to uncirculated. The Hungarian 100 Pengő and Indian One Rupee notes show significant signs of handling, including sharp vertical and horizontal folds, soft corners, and general paper wear (photo 1 and photo 2). The Guinea 100 Francs and Somali 1000 Shilin notes appear to be in crisp condition with sharp edges and no visible creasing (photo 1). A German 10 Reichsmark note is supplied in a clear plastic protective sleeve.
