This lot comprises a 1983 United Kingdom Proof Coin Collection. The collection is contained within a clear plastic display case, housed in a dark teal textured presentation box. The set features eight denominations including a nickel-brass one pound coin, cupro-nickel fifty pence, twenty pence, ten pence, and five pence coins, and bronze two pence, one penny, and half penny coins. The reverse designs shown include the Royal Arms on the ONE POUND, Britannia on the FIFTY PENCE, a crowned Tudor rose on the TWENTY PENCE, a crowned lion on the TEN PENCE, a crowned thistle on the FIVE PENCE, ostrich feathers on the TWO PENCE, a portcullis on the ONE PENNY, and a crown on the HALF PENNY. A central black plaque is inscribed ELIZABETH R 1983. The coins are struck to proof standard with mirror-like fields and frosted relief. The outer lid of the presentation box is struck with a silver-coloured crest featuring a crown and shield, above a banner inscribed ROYAL MINT. No maker’s marks, signatures, or labels are visible on the item.


Condition report:

The collection shows minimal signs of handling or environmental exposure. The displayed reverses of the coins exhibit high lustre mirror-like fields and frosted relief with no visible toning or surface defects. The obverses are not visible for inspection. The clear plastic display case and teal textured presentation box are in good condition with minor signs of storage wear. The set appears complete as issued.
