A 1937 UK silver coin, denominated as one crown. The obverse features the head of King George VI facing left. The struck initials HP are located at the base of the neck. The encircling legend is inscribed GEORGIVS VI D : G : BR : OMN : REX. The reverse displays the Royal Arms as a crowned shield supported by a lion and a unicorn. The struck initials K and G flank the base of the shield. The secondary legend is inscribed FID : DEF : IND : IMP : CROWN : 1937 :. A ribbon below the shield is inscribed DIEU ET MON DROIT and ET MON. The coin features a milled edge. No additional maker’s marks, signatures, or labels are visible.
Condition report:
The coin shows signs of circulation, environmental exposure, and handling. Obverse: The fields exhibit numerous fine surface hairlines and contact marks (photo 2). Moderate wear is visible on the high points of the portrait\'s hair. Reverse: Scratches and contact marks are present across the fields and the central heraldic shield (photo 1). Light toning is visible around the lettering and devices. The item is not supplied with a protective capsule or original packaging.
