Coins, Gold & Silver Bullion Auction
This lot comprises a collection of silver coins issued by the Cook Islands in 2002, designed in the style of a traditional British Maundy set. The obverse of each coin features the Ian Rank-Broadley effigy of Queen Elizabeth II facing right, with the struck inscriptions ELIZABETH II to the left and COOK ISLANDS to the right. The reverse of each coin depicts a large central numeral, being 1, 2, 3, and 4 respectively. Each numeral is topped with a crown and flanked by the split year 20 02, all enclosed within a laurel wreath. The coins feature mirror-like fields with frosted raised elements. No stamped fineness marks or metal purity inscriptions are visible on the surfaces of these coins.
