Coins, Gold & Silver Bullion Auction
A 2009 Mexican Libertad bullion coin, of circular form, struck in one troy ounce of .999 fine silver. The obverse features a representation of the Winged Victory statue set against a landscape depicting the volcanoes Popocatépetl and Iztaccíhuatl. Struck legends read 1 ONZA PLATA PURA 2009 LEY .999, alongside the mint mark for the Casa de Moneda de México consisting of an M with a superscript O. The reverse depicts the current Mexican coat of arms, showing an eagle perched on a cactus with a snake in its beak, encircled by the legend ESTADOS UNIDOS MEXICANOS. This central emblem is further surrounded by a border containing ten historical versions of the national seal.

Condition report:
The coin shows signs of environmental exposure and handling. The obverse exhibits widespread surface scuffing, fine scratches, and minor pitting across the raised relief and fields, accompanied by significant dark toning and tarnish (photo 1). The reverse shows general surface wear, contact marks, and scattered tarnish throughout the central design and the surrounding historical seals (photo 2). The coin is not supplied with a protective capsule or original packaging.
