Coins, Gold & Silver Bullion Auction
This lot comprises a 2020 United Kingdom Brilliant Uncirculated annual coin set consisting of thirteen coins presented in the original fold-out card packaging. The obverses of all coins feature the fifth definitive portrait of Queen Elizabeth II by Jody Clark, with the struck inscription ELIZABETH II • D • G • REG • F • D • 2020. The collection includes eight definitive denominations from 1p to £2, the reverses of which together form the Royal Shield (excluding the £1 and £2). Five commemorative coins are included: a £5 crown for the 200th anniversary of George III; three £2 coins for the 75th anniversary of V-E Day, the centenary of Agatha Christie’s first novel, and the 400th anniversary of the MAYFLOWER voyage; and a 50p coin for Team GB at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games. The front cover is printed with THE ROYAL MINT name and logo and TREASURE FOR LIFE. Internal technical specifications define the alloys as cupro-nickel and nickel-brass for various denominations.
Condition report:
The coins are in uncirculated condition as issued by the mint. No visible tarnish, toning, contact marks, or surface wear are present on any of the obverse or reverse faces. The original illustrated card packaging is intact with no significant creases, tears, or edge wear.
