The obverse depicts a central figure representing the Norse god Loki seated amidst forest foliage, holding a sprig in his right hand and a spear in his left, with a serpent coiled at his feet. The design is accompanied by the struck legend LOKI at the base and four runic characters along the upper edge. The reverse is finished with a textured, frosted ground and bears the crest of The Royal Mint, consisting of a crowned shield within a petaloid border, beside the legend THE ROYAL MINT. Below this are the struck marks 1 OZ 999.9 FINE SILVER. A decorative band of Celtic-style knotwork featuring two animal heads is struck at the base. The item is contained within its original clear plastic capsule and is mounted on a printed black and green card reading THE ROYAL MINT, THE ORIGINAL MAKER, LOKI, and 1OZ SILVER BAR.
