A Russian-manufactured TAL-1 amateur Newtonian reflector telescope, complete with its original wooden transport case. The set includes a white-enamelled metal main optical tube assembly equipped with a side-mounted rack-and-pinion focuser, and a matching finderscope with a mounting bracket. Also present are two black cylindrical metal sections for the pedestal mount and several smaller components and accessories in original packaging. The exterior of the wooden case features a metal identification plaque engraved with the text: AMATEUR ASTRONOMER TELESCOPE N 0328 1998 MADE IN RUSSIA. The telescope is housed in a finger-jointed plywood crate with a central black metal carry handle, twin tension latches, and internal moulded white polystyrene protective inserts.
Main optical tube length: approximately 80 – 90 cm.
Condition report:
The main optical tube shows light surface scuffing, minor scratches, and localised dirt marks, primarily around the mounting area. The finderscope and mount sections appear in good physical condition with minor signs of handling. The wooden crate is structurally sound but displays typical external wear including surface abrasions and residue from old adhesive labels. The internal foam inserts are intact but show minor staining and compression. The mechanical operation of the focuser and the condition of the internal mirrors have not been tested. The equatorial mount head and tripod base are not visibly present in this lot.
