An earthenware vase of baluster form featuring a flared rim and short neck. The exterior body is decorated with concentric horizontal bands of cream, ochre, and sage green glaze. The central, widest portion of the body displays a tactile sgraffito textured finish, where vertical lines have been incised through horizontal bands of dark green and brown glaze to create a woven, bark-like effect. The interior of the vessel is fully glazed. A blue circular printed mark is present on the base, featuring the text CINQUE PORTS POTTERY LTD. within an outer ring and THE MONASTERY RYE in three lines to the centre. No other maker’s marks, signatures, or labels are visible.

Condition report:
The vase shows no visible structural damage such as chips, cracks, or repairs to the rim or body. Fine crazing is visible across the glazed surface of the base. There is a small area of brown residue or marking on the unglazed foot rim.
