This lot comprises a Mid-20th Century Denby stoneware table service in the Homestead Brown pattern, featuring a two-tone glaze with a chocolate brown glossy exterior and a matte pale blue interior. The group includes a lidded coffee or hot water pot of ovoid form with a simple loop handle and a matching lid with a rounded knob finial. Also present is a small cream jug, an open sugar bowl, and a set of cups with matching saucers. The cups are of wide-mouthed form with circular handles. The base of the cream jug bears a printed black ink mark enclosed within two vertical brackets, reading DENBY MADE IN ENGLAND, with a capacity mark below reading 1/4 PT. No other maker’s marks, signatures, or labels are visible on the other components of the set.
Condition report:
The service shows signs of light handling and shelf wear. The glazed surfaces across all pieces retain a high glossy finish (photo 1). Minor scuffing and shelf wear is present on the unglazed foot rims (photo 3). No chips, cracks, or visible repairs are present. The set is not accompanied by original packaging.
