Buyer's Premium:

A pair of UK banknotes issued by the Bank of England, identified as the Series D pictorial issue. The obverse of each note features a portrait of Queen Elizabeth II in state robes. The printed text includes BANK OF ENGLAND, I PROMISE TO PAY THE BEARER ON DEMAND THE SUM OF, and ONE POUND. Below a central vignette, the text LONDON FOR THE GOVR AND COMPA OF THE BANK OF ENGLAND is positioned above a printed signature reading J B Page and the title CHIEF CASHIER. The letters E R appear to the right of the portrait. The notes bear the sequential serial numbers H11 254536 and H11 254537. The reverse depicts Sir Isaac Newton with an astronomical diagram and a telescope. The text ONE POUND appears at the top left, and a circular medallion at the lower right contains the text Sir Isaac Newton 1642-1727. The notes are printed in a primary green colour with yellow and brown highlights.


Condition report:

Both banknotes appear to be in uncirculated condition. The paper is bright and crisp with sharp corners and straight edges. There are no visible folds, creases, pinholes, or stains on the obverse (photo 1) or reverse (photo 2).
