A vintage die-cast model vehicle group featuring the Corgi Toys No. 27 Gift Set and a Matchbox Series No. 1 truck. The Corgi set, titled Machinery Carrier with Bedford tractor unit and Priestman Cub Shovel, includes a blue die-cast Bedford TK tractor unit with spring suspension and silver-tone wheels, a silver-grey articulated machinery carrier trailer with a detachable rear axle for loading, and a red and yellow Priestman Cub excavator. The excavator features a working grey plastic shovel arm and a circular Priestman Cub V decal on the cab. The set is housed in its original pictorial cardboard box lid featuring artwork of the vehicles in a quarry setting, complete with a moulded polystyrene inner display tray.
Also included is a Matchbox Series No. 1 Mercedes Truck produced by Lesney. The truck is finished in metallic gold paint and features green-tinted windows, an orange translucent plastic tilt, and chrome-coloured five-spoke star pattern wheels. The underside of the truck is embossed with the maker’s marks, Made in England by Lesney, and Series No. 1.
Condition report:
The Corgi Bedford tractor unit shows light paint chipping to the wheel arches and sharp edges. The machinery carrier trailer exhibits minor surface wear. The Priestman shovel shows paint loss on the yellow base and red cab edges; the black rubber tracks are missing from the drive wheels. The Matchbox Mercedes truck is in very good to near-mint condition with minimal visible paint wear and an intact plastic tilt. The Corgi box lid is in poor to fair condition, showing significant wear, creasing, and tears at the corners with evidence of old adhesive tape repairs. The polystyrene tray is discoloured and shows minor compression and chipping around the edges.
