Lot 176: A Collection of Carlton Ware Cabbage Leaf and Tomato Pattern Tableware
A collection of Carlton Ware glazed earthenware tableware featuring relief-moulded cabbage and lettuce leaf patterns accented with applied tomato motifs. The set comprises approximately 22 pieces, including a large triangular serving bowl, a circular serving bowl, various leaf-shaped platters and side plates, a footed strainer bowl with drainage holes, a large tomato-shaped covered preserve pot, a rectangular butter dish with a tomato-finial cover, a sauce boat with matching stand, a small three-lobed condiment dish, a divided circular serving dish, and a pair of ceramic salad servers with floral-motif handles. Most items are finished in a translucent bright green glaze with hand-painted red and orange tomato details. One plate features an off-white leaf pattern.

Condition report:
Items generally exhibit age-related wear consistent with vintage earthenware. Extensive fine glaze crazing is visible across most pieces, notably on the tomato-shaped preserve pot and the white leaf plate. Minor nibbles and small chips are present on some rims and relief-moulded elements, including a small chip to the edge of the butter dish lid. There is light surface scratching and stacking wear commensurate with use.
