A solid oak occasional side table in the Jacobean revival style, constructed in the form of a traditional joint stool with a dark-stained finish. The square top features a thumb-moulded edge. The table is built with a frieze rail, one side of which is decorated with a carved pattern of recessed fluted ovals. It stands on four turned and ringed legs with square-sectioned feet, all united by a low-level rectangular box stretcher. There are no maker’s marks, labels, or stamps visible on the piece.
Condition report:
The table is in used vintage condition. The top surface shows multiple fine surface scratches, some small indentations, and wear to the finish, particularly along the moulded edges (photo 2). Small nicks and scuff marks are present on the lower sections of the legs and the box stretchers, which is consistent with age and use (photo 1). The finish is overall intact but shows some unevenness and dust accumulation in the carved details (photo 1).
