A rectangular cast iron openwork relief plaque or frieze depicting the biblical narrative of Noahs Ark. The pierced relief illustrates pairs of animals, including giraffes, antelopes, and elephants, processing towards the Ark situated on the right-hand side. The upper section is decorated with stylised, swirling clouds within a simple rectangular frame. The piece is a single-piece casting with a black painted finish. It features six integral semi-circular mounting tabs, three along the top edge and three along the bottom, with pre-drilled holes for attachment to a frame, consistent with a back panel for a child’s garden bench.

Condition report:
The plaque shows clear signs of age and outdoor architectural use. The black finish is heavily worn and chipped across the entire surface, particularly on the raised relief elements and the mounting tabs. Significant surface oxidation and rust are visible on the exposed metal of the tabs and within the recessed areas of the casting. The structural integrity is sound, with no visible cracks, breaks, or missing sections of the openwork design.
