A late 19th or early 20th-century semi-porcelain oval serving dish with a matching lid, manufactured by W. Adams and Company in Tunstall, Staffordshire. The body features two integral looped side handles, and the lid is finished with a scrolled foliate-style central handle. The dish is decorated using a blue transferware technique in the Medallion pattern, comprising classical-style swags and garlands of flowers and foliage suspended between oval medallions containing a central stylized floral motif. A decorative border of geometric patterns and small florets runs around the rim of both the lid and the base. The handles are accented with blue foliate transfer details. The base bears a blue transfer-printed backstamp featuring a heraldic crest with two lions rampant flanking a shield, surmounted by a crown. The mark includes the text SEMI-PORCELAIN, W. ADAMS and CO, ENGLAND, and the pattern name MEDALLION.

Condition report:
The item is in good condition for its age. The transfer pattern remains crisp and well-defined. Visible defects include several small firing specks and glaze pops on the underside of the base and lid, and minor signs of surface wear and light crazing consistent with age and domestic use. No significant chips, cracks, or repairs are visible.
