A commemorative medal produced by The Royal Mint to celebrate the Diamond Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II in 2012. The medal is struck in a silver-toned metal and is presented in its original red glossy card box. The box lid features a stylised graphic of a crown containing the number 60 above a Union Jack, with the text Queens Diamond Jubilee. Inside, the white satin-effect lid lining is printed with The Royal Mint name and crest. The medal is seated in a black velvet-effect base and depicts the Royal Coat of Arms on the visible side, with the circumscription DIAMOND JUBILEE and the dates 1952-2012. This specific presentation was issued as a commemorative gift for school children during the Jubilee year.
Condition report:
The box lid displays visible surface wear, including light scratches and a significant vertical scratch or hairline crack near the bottom centre. The medal shows noticeable tarnish and toning, particularly around the raised central design. The interior of the box remains in good order.
