A commemorative 2 Dollar coin issued by the Commonwealth of The Bahamas in 1997. Struck in .925 sterling silver with a proof finish, the piece features mirrored fields and frosted relief. The obverse displays the Raphael Maklouf effigy of Queen Elizabeth II with inscriptions COMMONWEALTH OF THE BAHAMAS and 1997. The reverse bears a portrait of Lady Elizabeth Bowes-Lyon in 1908, inscribed QUEEN ELIZABETH THE QUEEN MOTHER, CHARMING LADY ELIZABETH 1908, and the denomination 2 DOLLARS. The coin has a reeded edge.
Condition report:
Proof condition. The coin shows strong lustre with visible surface hairlines and minor peripheral spotting and toning on both the obverse and reverse.
