A United Kingdom silver one shilling coin dated 1916. The obverse features the left-facing bare head portrait of King George V, surrounded by the Latin inscription GEORGIVS V DEI GRA: BRITT: OMN: REX. The reverse depicts a lion guardant crowned standing atop a crown, flanked by the date 1916. The upper legend reads FID: DEF: IND: IMP: with the denomination ONE SHILLING at the base. The coin is struck in sterling silver with a fineness of .925. Reference KM 816.


Condition report:

The coin is in circulated condition, exhibiting moderate wear to the high points of the portrait and the lion\'s mane. The silver surfaces show light scratches and dark toning, with an accumulation of dirt in the recessed areas around the lettering and devices.
