A United Kingdom cupro-nickel 50 pence coin featuring the Volleyball design, part of the official Royal Mint London 2012 Sports Collection. The heptagonal coin displays a reverse design depicting three volleyball players in action across a net, with the official London 2012 Olympic logo at the top centre. The denomination 50 PENCE is inscribed at the base. The obverse features the portrait of Queen Elizabeth II. The coin is presented in its original colour-coordinated Royal Mint collector card, which bears the titles London 2012 sports collection and Volleyball alongside the Olympic emblem. This series was released in 2011 to commemorate the upcoming XXX Olympiad.
Condition report:
The coin is in brilliant uncirculated condition, retaining its original mint lustre with no signs of circulation wear, contact marks, or surface oxidation. The cardboard presentation pack is in excellent state, showing minimal signs of handling and retaining sharp corners.
