A United Kingdom 50 pence coin issued by the Royal Mint as part of the London 2012 sports collection, specifically the Fencing edition. The cupro-nickel coin is struck in a heptagonal shape. The reverse design features two fencers during a bout, positioned below the official London 2012 Olympic logo, with the inscription 50 PENCE at the base. The coin is housed in its original illustrative display card featuring blue and orange graphics, a stylized fencer, and official London 2012 branding. The obverse, obscured by the packaging, features the fourth definitive portrait of Queen Elizabeth II by Ian Rank-Broadley. This coin was issued in 2011 as one of twenty-nine designs created for the London 2012 Olympic Games.
Condition report:
The coin is in brilliant uncirculated condition, retaining full original mint lustre with no evidence of wear or handling. The original presentation card remains in excellent condition with no visible creases or significant edge wear.
