Coins, Gold & Silver Bullion Auction
A group of United Kingdom George V silver coins, including 3 Pence (2nd issue) denominations. The collection features silver threepences with the crowned numeral reverse within an oak wreath, bearing dates including 1920 and 1921. Also present is the obverse of a larger silver denomination showing the uncrowned bust of the King. These coins are struck in .500 fine silver, the standard alloy used for British silver coinage after the 1920 debasement.
Condition report:
The coins are in circulated condition, generally grading Fine. There is moderate wear to the high points of the portraits and the wreath designs. Surfaces show contact marks and heavy dark environmental toning, particularly around the legends and within the recesses of the design.
