Lot 37: A Collection of Roman Imperial Bronze Coins Including Constantinian Dynasty Issues

A collection of Roman Imperial copper-alloy bronze nummi and an antoninianus dating from the 3rd to 4th centuries AD. The group includes a Beata Tranquillitas type nummus from the Trier mint, identified by the PTR mint mark in the exergue. The reverse features an altar inscribed with VOTIS XX. The collection also contains a Caesarum Nostrorum type for Constantine II as Caesar, featuring the obverse legend CONSTANTINVS IVN NOB C and a VOT X wreath reverse. Also identified is a Gloria Exercitus type reverse and a radiate antoninianus. The obverses generally feature laureated or diademed imperial portraits. The coins possess dark brown and dark green patinas with varying levels of surface mineralisation.
