A hand-carved wooden wall plaque depicting a male face in a rustic folk art style. The relief carving features exaggerated facial details including a prominent nose, rounded eyes, and a wide, drooping moustache. The figure is shown wearing a flat-brimmed hat topped with a central cylindrical protrusion. The piece is finished with a heavy, dark brown glossy varnish. The reverse of the plaque retains a rough, bark-inclusive texture and includes a metal D-ring for hanging. A white adhesive label with the handwritten number 966 is attached to the rear surface.
Condition report:
The plaque is in a rustic, used condition. There is a distinct horizontal separation or split between the top flat section of the hat and the main body of the carving. The heavy glossy finish shows signs of age with accumulated dust and cobwebs in the deep carvings. The reverse shows natural wood irregularities and minor surface wear.
