A comprehensive collection of approximately 26 pieces of mid-20th-century relief-moulded earthenware salad ware, presented in a majolica style. The set is characterised by a vibrant grass-green glaze with textured surfaces mimicking the veins and crinkles of cabbage or lettuce leaves. Many pieces are accented with applied or painted red tomato motifs, including finials and decorative clusters. The lot includes a wide variety of serving forms: one large triangular pedestal bowl, one large round bowl, two smaller round bowls, and a footed colander or strainer bowl. Platters and plates comprise a large circular divided dish with a central well, a large oval leaf-shaped platter, a kidney-shaped leaf dish, three medium leaf-shaped plates (including one in a contrasting cream glaze), a circular plate with radial leaf texture, and a diamond-shaped dish. Serving accessories include a large leaf-shaped platter with a matching ceramic-handled salad spoon and fork set.
