Live auction will start in __ days and __ hours

Start price: £100

Buyer's Premium:

An Ercol high-back Windsor armchair, specifically the Goldsmith model, featuring a hoop-back design with six turned spindles flanking a central decorative splat. The splat is detailed with a carved foliate and circular motif above a heart-shaped cutout. The chair is constructed with swept armrests supported by single spindles that pass through the seat, a solid elm contoured saddle seat, and a beech frame raised on four tapered legs joined by an H-stretcher. The wood is finished in a deep walnut-coloured stain. The underside of the seat bears a circular blue ink stamp containing the digits 5 and 0. There are dark rectangular patches and adhesive residue on the underside where a manufacturer label was previously affixed. Included is a loose, removable seat cushion upholstered in a cream-coloured damask fabric with a floral pattern.

Condition report:

The chair shows signs of moderate use and age. There is visible wear and thinning to the finish, most notably on the armrests, seat edges, and legs, with numerous scuffs and scratches present throughout. The solid elm seat displays a minor hairline separation along the wood grain. The underside shows surface scuffing. The upholstery is in fair condition with light surface wear and minor discolouration consistent with age.
