A pair of sterling silver brooches by the maker Forstner, each modelled in the form of a maple leaf. One brooch features a naturalistic design with a finely cross-hatched textured surface and raised central and lateral veins. The second brooch is detailed with dark niello or enamelled recessed sections contrasted against raised silver-toned veins. The reverse of the enamelled brooch is stamped with the maker mark FORSTNER STERLING SILVER MADE IN CANADA. Both items are fitted with hinged pins and rolling safety clasps.
Condition report:
The enamelled brooch displays visible tarnish and surface oxidation to the reverse. The textured brooch shows light surface wear and minor scuffs consistent with age. Both pin mechanisms appear functional. No missing components or structural damage are evident.
