A 1996 UK two pound silver proof coin issued by the Royal Mint to commemorate A Celebration of Football. Struck in .925 sterling silver. The reverse features the Celebration of Football design by John Mills and the obverse features the third definitive portrait of Queen Elizabeth II by Raphael Maklouf. The coin is housed in its original protective clear capsule and presented in a dark green Royal Mint case with a cream lining. Includes the original silver-lettered Certificate of Authenticity.
Condition report:
Excellent proof condition with high luster and reflective fields. No visible signs of handling or tarnishing on the coin surface. The interior cream silk lining of the case shows minor foxing near the hinge. The Certificate of Authenticity has a single small brown spot on the lower right edge.
