A 925 silver brooch designed in the form of a miniature Mexican sombrero. The piece is constructed entirely from intricate wirework filigree. The tall crown features a domed, openwork top finished with a small silver bead, with a decorative braided wire band encircling the base. The wide brim is decorated with repeating scroll patterns and is accented by small applied silver spheres at regular intervals. The reverse is fitted with a horizontal pin stem and a rollover safety clasp.
Weight: approximately 5 – 15g.
Condition report:
The brooch is in good vintage condition. The delicate filigree wirework appears to be largely intact with no major visible breaks. There is a moderate amount of natural tarnish and patina across the surface, particularly within the recessed areas of the wirework. The pin stem is slightly bent from use but remains functional and the safety clasp is secure.
