The obverse features a right-facing portrait of King William IV after William Wyon, with the Latin legend GULIELMUS IIII D:G: BRITANNIAR: REX F:D: and the initials W.W. incised on the neck truncation. The reverse depicts the Scottish Royal Arms flanked by thistles, with the legend QUAE DEUS CONIUNXIT NEMO SEPARET SCOTLAND and the date 1830. The piece is struck with a cameo proof finish featuring frosted devices and mirrored fields. This item is a private-mint fantasy issue produced for the collector market and was not struck for circulation.
Condition report:
Uncirculated with proof-like cameo finish. Significant dark toning and spotting are present in the mirrored fields. Light surface hairlines are visible upon close inspection.
