A UK 1985 Proof Coin Set issued by the Royal Mint. The set comprises seven decimal coins struck to proof quality, consisting of a fifty pence, twenty pence, ten pence, five pence, two pence, one penny, and a one pound coin. Reverse designs featured include the Britannia seated type, crowned Tudor rose, crowned lion, crowned thistle, Prince of Wales feathers, crowned portcullis, and the Welsh leek design. The coins are struck in copper-nickel, nickel-brass, and bronze. A central square metal plaque is inscribed with a crown, Elizabeth R, and the date 1985. The collection is housed in a transparent acrylic display case within a navy blue leatherette presentation box. The lid is silver-blocked with the Royal Mint heraldic crest and title.
Condition report:
The coins are in excellent proof condition, exhibiting full original lustre with no visible oxidation or handling marks. The clear acrylic housing is undamaged. The navy blue leatherette presentation box remains in good condition with minor shelf wear consistent with age.
