Buyer's Premium:

A Bank of England Series D Ten Pound banknote featuring the signature of Chief Cashier D.H.F. Somerset (in office 1980–1988). The obverse displays a portrait of Queen Elizabeth II wearing the George IV State Diadem and a coronation necklace, with a vignette of Britannia seated in the lower left medallion. The reverse features a portrait of Florence Nightingale, identified as 1820-1910, and a scene depicting her tending to soldiers in a hospital ward. The note is printed in a predominantly brown and orange colour palette and incorporates a vertical metallic security thread. Serial number CW13 323942 is printed in the top left and bottom right on the obverse.

Condition report:

Circulated. The note exhibits a heavy central vertical fold and multiple additional vertical creases consistent with circulation. Light handling wear and minor soiling are present. There is localized light staining along the top edge and a small blue ink mark in the top left margin. The corners show slight rounding, though the paper remains intact without significant tears or pinholes.
