A Royal Doulton glazed ceramic advertising decanter produced for Bell’s Scotch Whisky. The vessel is designed in the shape of a bell and features a two-tone brown finish, with a darker mottled glaze on the handle and neck transitioning to a lighter honey-brown on the main body. The piece is decorated with three gilded bands around the shoulder and a wide gilded band at the flared base. It retains its original ceramic stopper which is finished with a beaded edge. The base is marked with the Royal Doulton factory stamp in black, including the lion and crown motif and the circular text Made in England Royal Doulton, alongside the text Bell’s Scotch Whisky Perth – Scotland.
Condition report:
The decanter is in good condition with no evidence of chips, cracks, or repairs. The glaze remains bright and glossy. There is light rubbing to the gilding on the lower rim and bands, consistent with age and use. The ceramic stopper is present; the condition of the internal cork seal is unknown. The item is offered empty.
