A Murano art glass paperweight featuring a millefiori scramble design. The piece consists of a dense arrangement of multi-coloured glass cane fragments encased within a clear glass dome. The internal composition includes vibrant opaque red glass, yellow floret canes, and blue and white twisted latticinio-style ribbons, alongside emerald green and yellow accents. The internal elements are randomly packed to create a kaleidoscopic effect. The base is ground and polished. There are no visible maker’s marks or signatures.
Condition report:
The paperweight is in good overall condition with no visible chips, cracks, or surface abrasions. Small internal air bubbles, or seeds, are present within the clear glass, which are characteristic of the manufacturing process. The white circular ring visible in the upper portion of the dome is a reflection from photography lighting and is not a defect in the glass.
