Lot 226: A Collection of UK and Isle of Man Commemorative Crowns
A collection of British and Isle of Man commemorative cupronickel crowns dating from 1965 to 1980. The group includes a UK 1977 Silver Jubilee crown featuring an equestrian portrait, housed in its original blue and clear plastic presentation case. Also present is a UK 1965 Winston Churchill commemorative crown and two UK 1980 Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother 80th birthday crowns with a reverse design featuring stylized bows. The collection further includes an Isle of Man 1980 crown inscribed 80 GLORIOUS YEARS featuring multiple portraits of the Queen Mother. All coins are struck in silver-coloured cupronickel. One specimen bears a small white adhesive label with the handwritten numeral 3.
Condition report:
Coins exhibit conditions ranging from fine to uncirculated. Typical surface marks, light scratches, and scattered dark toning are visible across the group. The 1977 crown remains well-preserved within its presentation case in uncirculated condition. No evidence of harsh cleaning.
