A Raleigh Chopper bicycle, a modern reissue of the iconic British design. The item is constructed from silver. The bicycle features a metallic purple frame with red and pink decals, displaying the characteristic geometry of a larger rear wheel and a smaller front wheel. It is equipped with high-rise ape hanger handlebars with black rubber grips and integrated brake levers. The seating consists of a padded black banana saddle with a tall sissy bar backrest supported by decorative springs. The bicycle is fitted with a three-speed internal hub gear system, a rear mudguard, and a central kickstand. Visible markings include CHOPPER in large block letters on the down tube and RALEIGH in vertical script on the seat tube. The head tube is mounted with a metal badge featuring the Raleigh heron logo and the words RALEIGH BIKES. The handlebar stem top plate is embossed with a stylised R, and the headset is marked CH918MW. A printed warning label is present on the rear of the saddle.
Condition report:
The bicycle is in used, unrestored condition. The purple paintwork exhibits scattered scratches, scuffs, and small chips consistent with use. Significant surface rust and pitting are visible on the rear mudguard, with lighter oxidation present on the sissy bar and handlebars. The drive chain shows surface rust. The saddle is intact but shows scuffing and wear to the edges. Mechanical functions, including the gears and brakes, have not been tested.
