A collection of United Kingdom 50 pence coins issued by The Royal Mint as part of the 2016 series celebrating the 150th anniversary of the birth of Beatrix Potter. The group includes several heptagonal cupro-nickel coins struck to Brilliant Uncirculated standard. Reverse designs featured in the collection include character depictions of Peter Rabbit, Squirrel Nutkin, Jemima Puddle-Duck, and Mrs. Tiggy-Winkle, as well as a commemorative portrait coin inscribed BEATRIX POTTER 1866 1943. The obverse of the coins displays the fifth definitive portrait of Queen Elizabeth II by Jody Clark. Each coin is housed within its original illustrated fold-out card presentation packaging, and the collection is held within a dedicated white collector box titled Celebrating the Wonderful World of Beatrix Potter. Some folders remain in their original protective plastic sleeves.
Condition report:
The coins appear to be in excellent, uncirculated condition with full original mint lustre and no visible signs of wear or handling. The card presentation folders and outer collector box are well-preserved, showing only minimal signs of handling consistent with as-issued items.
