A United Kingdom 2001 bimetallic two pound coin issued by the Royal Mint to commemorate the centenary of the first transatlantic wireless transmission by Guglielmo Marconi. The coin is housed in its original illustrated presentation folder titled Transatlantic Wireless 1901-2001. The reverse features the Robert Evans wireless transmission design, and the obverse displays the fourth portrait of Queen Elizabeth II by Ian Rank-Broadley. The folder contains historical information regarding the 1901 transmission from Poldhu, Cornwall to St John’s, Newfoundland.
