This collection comprises a complete set of the Queen’s Beasts series, issued by the UK Royal Mint. Each coin is struck in .9999 fine silver with a weight of 2 ounces and a face value of five pounds. The obverse of each piece displays the fifth definitive portrait of Queen Elizabeth II by Jody Clark, with the legend ELIZABETH II D G REG F D 5 POUNDS. The reverse designs illustrate ten heraldic beasts including the Lion of England, the Griffin of Edward III, the Red Dragon of Wales, the Unicorn of Scotland, the Black Bull of Clarence, the Falcon of the Plantagenets, the Yale of Beaufort, the White Lion of Mortimer, the White Horse of Hanover, and the White Greyhound of Richmond. An eleventh central completer coin dated 2021 is included, featuring all ten heraldic beasts in a circular arrangement around the royal portrait. The reverse of each coin includes the name of the beast, weight, purity, and year of issue between 2016 and 2021. The coins are housed in protective acrylic capsules and presented in a fitted black wooden case with a printed interior lid. The lot includes a pair of white cotton handling gloves.
