This commemorative non-circulating note is produced using the Aurum process and contains 50mg of pure platinum. The design is based on the Bank of England Series D five-pound currency originally issued in the 1980s. The note bears the printed signature of Jo Page as Chief Cashier. It is marked QEII-2022 in two locations, likely commemorating the Platinum Jubilee. Technical inscriptions in the lower-left quadrant include 50 MG PURE PLATINUM and AURUM | PATENTS PENDING, with NOT LEGAL TENDER printed above the £5 denomination. The item is constructed from a thin, translucent film infused with pure platinum.
