Buyer's Premium:

A large British military artillery shell casing manufactured from brass. This item is identified by base markings indicating its use with Mark VII*, XV, and XVII 6-inch naval guns, designated for fixed ammunition as signified by the inscription GUNS FIX. The base features several official stamps, including the British government broad arrow mark positioned above a Roman numeral III. A large N mark denotes naval service. The manufacturer is identified as Imperial Chemical Industries by the I.C.I stamp with a small diamond containing 3D below. The casing is clearly dated 1936 and includes a partially obscured lot mark. The casing is a short, heavy variant, typical of naval ordnance from the inter-war period.
