Buyer's Premium:

A pair of vintage Porro prism binoculars, likely of mid-20th century manufacture. The instrument features a black-finished metal body with textured faux-leather vulcanite-style grip panels. The left shoulder plate is marked COATED LENS in white capital letters, with 393 FT. AT 1000 YDS. inscribed below in a reddish-pink tone. The right shoulder plate shows fragmentary reddish-pink characters ending in ER, typically indicating the magnification power.

The binoculars are designed with a central focusing wheel featuring vertical ridges and a right-eye diopter adjustment scale marked 2, 1, 0, 1, 2. The centre hinge includes an interpupillary distance scale with visible markings for 60 and 70. The item is fitted with a makeshift neck strap consisting of a blue textile cord. No manufacturer name is clearly legible on the plates.

Condition report:

The binoculars are in a heavily used, uncleaned condition. There is a significant accumulation of dust and surface grime throughout the body and onto the lens surfaces. The metalwork shows characteristic paint loss and wear, particularly on the edges and high points. The optical clarity is obscured by surface dust and internal grime, likely requiring professional cleaning for optimal use. The mechanical function of the central focus wheel and diopter adjustment appears intact. The item is missing its original carrying case and all lens caps. One screw is visible in the centre hinge cap.
